The local chapter has been formed with The Center for Wound Care, Podiatry Affiliates, Visiting Nurses Association and specialists in vascular surgery, infectious disease.

News: Comparative effectiveness clinical study shows better patient outcome in lower extremity endovascular interventions by vascular interventional radiologists in comparison to vascular surgeons.
Zafar et al. published a study in the January 2012 volume of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology comparing outcomes of lower extremity endovascular interventions performed by vascular surgeons versus vascular interventional radiologists. According to the study, Medicare data from 2005-2007 shows that endovascular interventions of the lower extremities performed by vascular surgeons results in more transfusions, ICU use, longer hospital stay, more repeat revascularizations and amputations, and higher costs in comparison to procedures performed by interventional radiologists.
